Latest Sketch- 3 hr open studio session #charcoal #portraitart

Drawing a portrait is very difficult for many reasons. One has to worry about the lighting, the right shade, proportions, and trying to bring out that special something in a person. I definitely struggle with this, and I hope to continue working on it. I am glad to have met some great people recently who have motivated me to pursue my interest! I encourage everyone to explore their creative side, whether it be through art, music, theater, or writing. One never knows where it will lead. Three years ago, I would have never thought that I would be playing guitar or drawing. I have learned to take risks in life, and that I must be willing to throw myself in situations that would otherwise make me uncomfortable.

This was done at the local art studio’s 3 hour open session in Savannah, GA.
