11″ x 14″ Gesso Board: Decided to experiment with a palette knife and add something different to this piece. I wanted the right side to appear as it were an old painting. I love the idea of clashing Realism and Abstract art–The old and the new.
Decided to make parts of this piece abstract.
I’ve taken some time off from painting so that I can focus my time on my family, especially now that the holidays are here. I am also taking some intense art training courses over the next year. I still love drawing landscapes and I do them every so often in order to take a break from my usual stuff.
The painting moves in a clock-wise motion, hence the added wings which are painted round and around the person. The clouds begin the process, then everything takes off.
This is a painting I am currently working on with oil. The stained glass windows symbolize the past, and the movement of the clouds not only move from left to right but also move forward.
Decided to try something different today–I used oil to create an interesting impasto effect.
