It has been a while since I have attended a live drawing session here in Savannah. I had such a blast connecting with some old friends and meeting new artists. I will be attending these much more frequently.

Self-Portrait Study with Charcoal 9″ x 12″ Tone Paper
I wanted to get some practice in with charcoal. I did this looking in the mirror. I will be challenging myself to do one every other day along with different parts of the body.
Stillness: 8″ x 10″ Panel
Work in Progress on Linen by artist VW
I started this painting a year ago and decided to leave it alone for a while. I went back to it adding some color. I still want to keep adding more details to his clothe and emphasize the highlights on his face. I want this piece to represent more than just the obvious and to symbolize a universal state. I’ve been told to stay away from painting images of anything pertaining to deep subjects in order to make myself “marketable.” I would rather paint what I feel than what sells.
Serene Day: Original Oil on 16″ x 12″ Panel by VW
The clouds appear to float in the distance in the blue clear sky. The light breeze tickles your skin, and a subtle light appears in the distance and casts a beautiful light upon the leaves and warm grass.
I really wanted to keep my brushstrokes loose in this one. I also left visible texture, something I do in all of my paintings.
